The Role:

As a Data Engineer working on our critical data pipelines at Oviva, your contributions will have a big impact on our data infrastructure efforts. You design and build pipelines that will support critical business intelligence functions, help enable decision making around features for patients and health coaches, and empower our coworkers, especially our data scientists, to experiment with and develop on top of our data.

Your Responsibilities


  • Help to evolve and scale our data engineering platform, with an eye on future fit and growth. Work closely with the data science and engineering teams, as well as other stakeholders from our finance, marketing, business intelligence and product teams, to understand the data needs of the business and produce processes that enable a better product and support growth decision-making.

  • Develop a data privacy and retention strategy for different sources and automate the implementation of it.

  • Build out and maintain monitoring for our data infrastructure to validate that all data is reliable and up to date.

What are we looking for you to bring:


  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Professional experience working in a Data Engineering role (+3 Years)

  • Deep technical understanding of data architectures and data warehousing principles

  • Previous experience in health/pharma is a plus.

  • A background in cloud computing and how to utilise them in real use cases. Experience with Google Cloud stack preferred

  • Relational database knowledge and experience. BigQuery experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Python and SQL. Should be willing to learn and use Golang.

  • Experience with ETL / orchestration / data pipelining tools like Fivetran, dbt, Airflow etc

  • Understanding of modern BI Tools and their integration with the data warehouse

  • Understanding of modern software development practices such as CI/CD, GIT, DevOps

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
